Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County.
Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
The Client Service Assistant performs a variety of clerical duties supportive to the assigned clinic or program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.

Performs a variety of clerical duties supportive to the assigned clinic or program
Greets clients and visitors
Schedules clients
Answers the phone and directs calls or takes messages
Monitors the waiting area and notifies staff according to proper procedures
Prepares and maintains client records (charts)
Creates provider schedules in scheduling system
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum of three months experience in a hospital or health care setting with public contact
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Good telephone manners with ability to handle clients under pressure
Uses age appropriate communication skills
Ability to type, accuracy more important than speed
Attention to detail
Alpha/numeric filing
Knowledge and understanding of billing/account processes
Knowledge of standard office equipment and computer console (CRT)
Basic knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology
Knowledge of hospital and clinic procedures
Ability to work effectively under pressure of client volume
Ability to be flexible to changing work duties and locations
Ability to follow verbal/written instructions
