Pet Delivery Specialist

*Pet Delivery Specialist (PDS)* *Job Summary:* As a Pet Delivery Specialist at Pet Paws Transit, you will be at the heart of our commitment to providing exceptional care and service to pets and their owners.
This role involves the safe and compassionate transportation of pets, as well as the efficient delivery of pet supplies to our customer's doorsteps.
The ideal candidate is not just a safe driver but also a pet lover who understands the importance of handling animals with care and respect.
*Key Responsibilities:* * Safely transport pets to and from various locations, including but not limited to homes, veterinary offices, and grooming salons.
* Deliver pet supplies, including food, medications, and heavy items, to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
* Ensure the comfort and safety of pets during transit, including the provision of water, temperature control, and appropriate restraint.
* Maintain a clean and secure vehicle to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for pet transportation.
* Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions, offering advice on pet care products, and ensuring a positive experience with every delivery.
* Handle paperwork and documentation related to pet transport and delivery services, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
* Assist with loading and unloading pet supplies, which may involve lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues or concerns.
* Stay informed about the latest in pet care and transportation best practices to enhance service quality.
*Qualifications* * A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
* Experience in driving and delivering in a professional capacity.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to handle pets gently and confidently, with previous experience in pet care or animal handling preferred.
* Physically fit and able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
* Knowledge of basic pet first aid and comfort with administering it if needed.
* Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required.
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in animal care or logistics is a plus.
