Feed Delivery Truck Driver

*Location:* Greensburg, IN *Terms: *Full-time, hourly, 7 am – 4 pm \*could vary depending on the feed schedule *Salary/Rate: *Based on Experience *Reports To: *Feed Mill Supervisor 1st Shift and 2nd Shift / Director of Grain and Feed Operations *About Us: *Gemstone, Inc.
is a toll feed mill making and delivering bulk swine feed.
*Role Summary: * The feed delivery truck driver will be responsible for delivering feed from the mill to the customers’ bins in an efficient and timely manner daily.
He/she must be customer focused, hardworking, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and work with other employees to ensure a high standard of human and food safety is understood and implemented.
He/she will deliver feed following all standard operating procedures, company policies, DOT regulations, and FDA Food Safety Modernization Act rules.
He/she will effectively communicate with the team and maintain clean equipment.
*Responsibilities:* · Complete truck inspection before the start of each day · Maintain assigned truck and trailer, cab cleanliness, and communicate any maintenance needs · Deliver customer feed orders accurately, timely, and safely and report any feed issues to feed supervisors and coordinator · Correctly follow all instructions on delivery ticket and unload the feed trailer in the correct order · Document and record data as needed to ensure FDA Food Safety Modernization Act regulations are being met · Report broken bin lids, chains, or other site issues to feed coordinator · Record fuel usage, mileage, and other DOT required paperwork · Be an involved and engaged member of the team and be willing to act and think independently · Maintain a positive and respectful attitude at all times · Ensure that company safety practices are adhered to · Work overtime to finish feed order deliveries for the day when needed · Work holidays or weekends on rare occasions; willing to haul emergency feed orders over the weekend on rare occasions · Other responsibilities as assigned · Must have a working cell phone *Physical Requirements:* · Ability to work in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.
) · Ability to perform physical job duties including but not limited to bending/stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs, opening/closing valves, and pounding with rubber mallet · Ability to work in elevated areas if needed *Education/Knowledge Required:* · Class A CDL · High School diploma or equivalent · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work *Skills and Work Experience Preferred but not Required:* · Experience in feed delivery related work and team environment · Basic computer/phone skills · Organizational skills · Detail oriented · Written and verbal communication skills Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Paid time off Schedule: * Day shift Experience: * Trucking: 5 years (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Greensburg, IN 47240: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
