The compensation for this position will depend on experience.
Overall Expectations or Position Purpose: The Driver Manager is responsible for communicating all pertinent freight information to drivers in a region of assigned responsibility.
Supervise and maintain equipment providing load capacity.
Work directly with internal employees and manage expectations against operational capabilities.
Employ a strategic approach by problem solving and develop corrective actions to enhance operational performance.
Essential Duties: Responsible for the supervision and management of a fleet of drivers, to assure proper and timely loading and delivery of products to customers.
Assurance of compliance and administration of all reporting procedures and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for fleet efficiency including driver productivity, miles, legal HOS, operation, availability, customer service and pre-planning performance.
Assist with development of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the driver workforce.
Interaction with outside freight vendors and coordination of scheduling requirements.
Build relationships, solve issues, and assist customers and drivers with their individual needs.
Will be required to make driver deliveries 2 days per week.
Job Requirements: Operational Skills: This position requires an individual experienced in the movement of freight and driver relations.
Will be required to make delivery drivers as well 2 days per week.
We are looking for a fundamentally solid performer who is consistently able to facilitate multiple projects and remain productive under pressure.
Management: This position requires experience in managing and coaching others.
Troubleshooting any issues with a driver pick up or delivery to ensure proper freight delivery.
Analysis: Coordinating with operational staff in order to receive maximum productivity from drivers while operating within company safety departments.
Communication: This position requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; and the ability to confront and resolve performance or service issues with drivers and customers effectively.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have Class B License 2 years related experience Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Familiarization with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations is a plus.
Fleet management experience.
Strong analysis and decision making skills.
Superior customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
