*POSITION SUMMARY: *
We are currently hiring for the position of Delivery Driver, where you will be responsible for safely operating a 16 ft box truck with a liftgate.
Your primary duty will be completing daily runs within a maximum roundtrip of 200 miles, servicing various locations including Indianapolis, Lafayette, Ft Wayne, NW Indiana, and Chicago.
As the face of the company, based out of our Avon, IN warehouse, your role will involve safely loading and unloading shipments using the liftgate, documenting and signing for all deliveries accurately.
Adherence to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies is essential, as is maintaining cleanliness and organization in both the delivery vehicle and warehouse area.
Providing exceptional customer service to clients and vendors during pickups and deliveries is a key aspect of this role, ensuring customer satisfaction and reflecting the company's commitment to excellence.
*Responsibilities:*
* Safely operate a 16 ft box truck with a liftgate for daily runs within a maximum roundtrip of 200 miles.
* Service the Indianapolis, Lafayette, Ft Wayne, NW Indiana, and Chicago markets while based out of our Avon, IN warehouse.
* Load and unload shipments using a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
* Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and properly signed for upon receipt.
* Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
* Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating company vehicles.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and warehouse area.
* Provide excellent customer service to clients and vendors during pickups and deliveries.
*Requirements:*
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
· Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
· Forklift certification or demonstrated experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects and packages as needed.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
· Ability to pass a background check.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
· Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
· Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
· Minimum experience level as a driver (2 years)
*POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:*
*Education: *High School Diploma or equivalent
*Experience: *Experience working in a collision industry(preferred), warehouse, or outside distribution environment.
*Computer Skills: *Basic knowledge of computer programs preferred (MS Office, ERP Systems etc.
)
*Certificates & Licenses: *Class C/non-CDL
*Other Requirements: *Clean Driving Record
*WORK ENVIRONMENT *
The work environment for this position blends warehouse and outdoor delivery operations.
You will spend time loading and unloading shipments in the warehouse using a forklift, as well as driving company vehicles for deliveries to various locations.
This dynamic setting requires adaptability to both indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather and typical warehouse activity.
