Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual transmission trucks
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely delivery of goods
- Load and unload cargo from trucks using appropriate equipment
- Ensure proper handling and secure packaging of goods during transportation
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and signatures
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating vehicles
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance as needed
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a similar role or industry
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles, including manual transmission trucks
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading cargo
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays if required
Note: Experience with route driving, courier services, tractor-trailers, warehouse operations, and operating pallet jacks or forklifts is highly desirable but not mandatory.
