Come grow with us! Job Description: Crowe is seeking a Marketing Risk & Compliance Manager to manage a portfolio of Marketing contracts.
A critical aspect of this role is overseeing marketing’s contractual obligations and serving as a point-of-contact between Marketing teams on compliance-related matters.
This individual will work closely with the Marketing Risk and Compliance Leader, Marketing Operations, Marketing Leadership team, and Legal to ensure contracts stay active, are understood, and terms and conditions are applied during the contract cycle.
This role will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and communicating governance procedures and policies related to marketing and promotional compliance, including the use of third-party IP, with the goal of mitigating the firm’s marketing risk.
This individual will handle sensitive information and must be able to demonstrate exceptional decision making while consulting with counsel and firm risk management for marketing compliance issues.
This individual will interact and support various members of the MDS, Legal, FRM, National Office, Strategic Markets on topics of policy, compliance, standards, and ethics as necessary to support business commitments and maintain brand.
Main Responsibilities Assist with managing legal workflows and project deadlines for the marketing function, communicating with internal teams regarding the status of the same.
Oversee intellectual property use permission tracking related to upcoming rights expirations, notifying the team of any such expirations.
Develop a reporting process that will effectively communicate Marketing compliance requirements and status.
Communicate and present information to Marketing stakeholders about compliance-related matters.
Provide support to Marketing team for structured quarterly compliance audits and training with appropriate stakeholders.
Work closely with the Marketing Risk and Compliance Leader and with attorneys as applicable to review, and advise on marketing contracts, MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, and other legal agreements, including identifying and escalating legal issues as necessary.
Review and communicate terms of marketing contracts to marketing execution teams to support compliance as part of process.
• Identify, assess, and support risk mitigation related to marketing initiatives and provide recommendations to close discovered process gaps.
Develop and maintain governance policies, procedures, and controls related to marketing risk and compliance.
Serve as a co-liaison with the Marketing Risk & Compliance Leader between Marketing and Legal, Product Development, FRM, and National Office as applicable.
Serve as a compliance resource for the marketing team helping them to execute digital marketing, print, multichannel and social media initiatives with appropriate content and required disclosures.
Work with legal to review marketing contract terms and conditions.
Validate the business requirements in a contract are aligned with marketing strategy and have been approved by stakeholders.
Periodically audit compliance to contract terms and addresses unsatisfactory audit findings.
Facilitate loss of rights notifications and procedures.
Collaborate with Legal and Firm Risk Management on various tasks/projects as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus 8+ years of experience in Marketing, Business Operations, Risk Management, and/or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years’ dedicated experience in implementing contract management and controls and applying regulatory and brand reputational risks to marketing risk and compliance standards.
