Your Opportunity: The Herff Jones Human Resources team is looking for a Contract Manager to join our HJ Family.
Here's How You Will Make an Impact: Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources the Contract Manager will support Herff Jones and the management of contracts with customers, vendors, suppliers, partners, or employees.
This important role interacts with the broader senior executive team and managers within the organization.
Being a Contract Manager requires a combination strategic thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work with users across the organization.
It is essential this role stays up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements to effectively manage company contracts.
Managing legal contracts is a critical function in many organizations, and having a dedicated Contract Manager is essential to ensure that contractual obligations are met, risks are minimized, and compliance is maintained.
What You Will Do On A Daily Basis: • Contract drafting, reviewing, negotiating, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance, legal compliance, organization’s policies and minimizing legal risk.
• Identifying potential legal issues and proposing solutions during the contract drafting process.
• Negotiates the terms and conditions in contracts and ensures compliance with them.
• Documents any changes/amendments in contracts or pending contracts that may happen during execution of the contract.
• Creates and maintains contract database for easy access and retrieval.
• Stay informed about updates and changes in relevant regulations, laws and internal policies.
• Communicate changes or updates in contracts.
• Collaborate with other departments to address any cross-functional issues.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts, from creation and negotiation to execution and renewal.
• Maintain relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Human Resources, legal and payroll projects as assigned.
What You Will Bring the Table: • Bachelor’s degree in HR, law or business-related field or combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience with contract negotiations.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Relevant certifications or memberships in project management, legal and compliance associations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal, role interacts with all levels of senior leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and are passionate about process.
• Strong computer skills, MS Outlook calendaring, Word, Power Point and reporting in Excel.
Physical Activities: Daily activity includes but is not limited to: • Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Reading, communication, simple math.
• Be able to regularly lift/move up to 25lbs.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate.
