Job Role Summary
This position is responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of matters, with primary focus on advising the Health & Hospital Corporation (HHC or Corporation) on long term care legal issues.
The position will work as a member of a legal team and provide legal advice to all HHC divisions.
Associated Job Duties
Provide legal advice on long term care legal issues.
Serve as primary legal contact for HHC's long term care management contractor.
Draft and review contracts, leases, and other legal documents related to long term care.
Assist in the preparation of long term care applications, certifications, updates, and revalidations.
Serve as liaison with 3rd Party claims administrator, including review of litigation matters and consultation on review of claims and disposition strategy for litigation.
Monitor legal compliance for HHC's captive insurance agency, including compliance with captive regulators.
Attend meetings of HHC's Long Term Care Committee and, if requested, provide legal review of materials distributed.
Provide advice and counsel to all divisions of the Corporation, as assigned.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Doctor of Jurisprudence
At least 2 years of healthcare regulatory experience
Experience in healthcare long term care and skilled nursing facilities laws and regulations and/or litigation, preferred.
Licenses/Certifications Required
License to practice law in Indiana
Working Environment
Hybrid office environment.
