About the Role: This position is responsible for managing risk and compliance for USA Football.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring alignment with U.
S.
Center for SafeSport and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) requirements.
This role will also work with the legal team on all contract creation, renewal and execution.
The team member will be successful at building strong relationships across the organization, committees, and constituent groups.
Virtual position.

Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the primary liaison to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), US Center for SafeSport (Center), youth organizations, etc.
for all Safe Sport and other compliance matters.
Proactively communicate and keep executive team, and others as appropriate, apprised of all issues related to all athlete safety inclusive of Safe Sport and USOPC compliance related matters.
Review, update and develop all USA Football’s USOPC required policies and procedures.
Work closely with various departments to ensure best practices are created, communicated, and consistently followed.
Review, update, and/or develop all USA Football’s Safe Sport/USOPC policies and procedures.

Receive, track, investigate, and adjudicate complaints, including assisting the necessary parties with investigating Safe Sport complaints and other policy violations or complaints in coordination with respective committees as applicable.
Organize, schedule and attend background screen appeal hearings for individual members whose criminal history requires review.
Administer annual conflict of interest disclosure process for all applicable parties, Safe Sport training education and background screen requirements among various constituent groups to ensure compliance with all training and other athlete safety requirements.
Provide communication to all relevant parties on progress and status of complaints, investigation, hearing procedures, appeals and final resolutions.
Assist with compliance audits and prepare associated communications to relevant organizations who provide NGB compliance oversight, including but not limited to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and others.
Ensure tracking systems are created and updated for all compliance requirements, complaints, and related matters, and provide updates and status reports as appropriate.
Stay up to date on training requirements and ensure compliance with training requirements.
Assist in the management of USOPC and insurance audits to ensure compliance with safety measures and policies.
Manage all communications with and relationships with relevant service providers, including but not limited to educational program providers, SafeSport Center USOPC, etc.
Ensure there are effective tracking systems for compliance, complaints, and related matters, and provide updates and status reports as appropriate.
Maintain USA Football “eligible athlete database” and assist with related elections/governance.
Manage and oversee audits from regulatory bodies (USOPC and Center) and insurance carrier(s) to ensure compliance with safety measures and policies.
Stay up to date with USOPC and Safe Sport, requirements, standards and training.
Serve as an information resource for USA Football constituents relative to SafeSport.
Work with members of staff and others to increase understanding of Safe Sport.
Maintain records on all cases.
Ensure accuracy of all board and committee information on website Prepare standard operating procedures regarding risk mitigation Prepare and maintain all policies related to compliance activities Negotiate contract terms with internal and external business partners Review and update existing contracts Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties Assist in negotiations of contracts Ensure that employees understand and comply with company contracts Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms Stay up-to date with legislative changes and coordinate with the legal/human resource department as needed Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met (e.
g.
payments, VIK, etc.
) Maintain organized system of digital records Create language standards for existing and new contracts Interface and collaborate with outside fractional general counsel Other duties and projects as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s level degree in relevant discipline or work equivalent to law, business administration, compliance/audits, contract negotiation/creation, etc.
) JD or experienced paralegal preferred.
Minimum of 3 years working experience in a related field.
Knowledge of legal requirements involved in contracts Solid interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to build trust, build rapport and convey empathy.
Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and navigate complex, highly sensitive situations.
Ability to assess a problem objectively and move through problem solving effectively using discretion and judgement.

Experience with conducting multiple party/complex investigations including interviewing skills, assessments and recommendations.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, etc.
The pay range for this position is as follows: Min $46,431; Mid $60,300; Max $74,169.
This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
