POSITION PURPOSE
Focus on creating content for various purposes, including press releases, talking points, the public website, Intranet, posters, flyers, letters, newsletters and various other products.
This position has a hybrid working model with days on site based on business needs.
This role is anticipated to have up to 10 hours or less per week.
POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Reads scientific journal articles, grant descriptions, project descriptions.
Compiles questions for interviews of Regenstrief and other researchers.
Conducts interviews to gather, select and present information for purposes of internal and external publicty.
Writes press releases and prepares information for the media, scientific community, journals, etc.
to promote organizational work.
May prepare and edit organizational materials, including announcements, digital content, and other publications for internal and external audiences.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Requires a BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related discipline.
Experience may be considered in place of degree.
Requires at least three (3) years of demonstrated public relations writing across diverse functions (cross functional relationships, 3rd party vendors.
etc.
).
Experience working/leading media and content creation efforts preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to interact and verbally communicate, mainly one on one with researchers and Regenstrief Public Relations team members Ability to write reports and operational correspondence Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to think logically to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound decisions PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.

This position requires working as a team member and also independently.
