Principal Function: The Show Writer Intern is responsible for the creation of an overall script for the Trail of Terror haunted corn maze experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: Takes concepts and ideas generated by the creative team and translates those ideas into a storyboard for the experience.
Coordinates the development of characters who will populate the experience based on directives from the creative team, to include costume ideas and each character’s role in advancing the storyline.
Executes the writing of any required scripting, including live performers, pre-recorded media that is a part of the experience, and any promotional media.
Scripting should also include stage directions/blocking, and clearly defined scares and/or interactions between live actors and guests in each scene.
Collaborates with the production team to install and test show set pieces in various scenes.
Collaborates with creative, production and operations teams to ensure live actors working in the experience are properly trained and understand their roles respective to the scenes in which they are working.
Collaborates with creative and marketing teams to ideate creative ways to generate hype and promote the experience through social media and other marketing channels.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Student or graduate of theater, film/television production or themed entertainment design and/or those with strong creative writing foundations, basic scriptwriting knowledge, and an interest in writing or media.
Experience in the areas of scripting/show writing, set design, storyboarding, character development, and/or experience design.
Writing samples will be required as part of the interview process.
Creative Writing - Expresses creative ideas and concepts in written form; Creates visual images through writing; Translates general storylines into scripted lines and stage directions.
Length of Internship/Hours/Rate of Pay: 30 hours/week for 6 weeks June 3- July 2024 $13.
