JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing and Events Specialist helps to develop and implement marketing strategies and a wide range of events in collaboration with the marketing team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Events Assist in planning, preparation, execution and follow-up of engagement events.
Events will engage families, community members, and early childhood education partners and providers.
Understand and/or create event budgets, source vendors, purchase materials, lead events from set up to tear down.
Identify, invite, engage, nurture, and follow up with attendees.
Create and execute virtual events on platforms like GoToWebinar, Zoom and Teams.
Marketing Meet with internal clients alongside the marketing team (Marketing Manager, Digital Engagement Specialist and Creative Support Specialist) to understand project goals.
Utilize available tools to deliver marketing campaigns as outlined by Marketing Manager.
Utilize Hubspot to draft, edit and send communications.
Build automations, forms and landing pages to meet marketing goals.
Understand and report on key performance indicators.
Digital / Social Create social media content for Early Learning Indiana, Day Early Learning and Brighter Futures Indiana social channels in collaboration with the marketing team and subject matter experts.
This includes writing, designing and scheduling posts using tools like Sprout Social Utilize Meltwater for social listening.
Prepared to respond quickly to social needs.
Understand and stay up-to-date with the quickly changing social and digital landscape.
Website management for Early Learning Indiana, Day Early Learning and Brighter Futures Indiana using WordPress, Elementor and Craft CMS software.
Design Comfortably use and build within design guidelines and templates, Assist with designing assets for social media platforms, email templates, promotional materials and digital marketing campaigns.
Assist with creating or editing presentations in PowerPoint.
Creating and editing of documents in InDesign.
Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Early Learning Indiana.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS An individual must have the following education and/or experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
1-2 years of digital media experience 1-2 years of event management experience Familiarity with the following tools preferred: Hubspot, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Sprout Social, Elementor, WordPress, Craft CMS, and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Teams, PowerPoint and Excel COMPETENCIES & SKILLS The successful team member will demonstrate individual competency in the following areas: Excellent writing and editing skills Great communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working in fast-paced environment with evolving business needs Proven ability to deliver planned and unplanned projects on tight deadlines Self-motivated and strong ability to handle high volumes and shifting priorities Good project management skills and the ability to lead and influence others to achieve results Ability to be creative and think around problems WORK CONTEXT This is a hybrid work position.
A successful team member will be expected to work productively: From home 3 out of 5 days per week on average From the statewide office located at 1411 N Roosevelt Ave in Indianapolis 2 out of 5 days per week, likely Tuesday and Wednesday but subject to change Be able to travel to and from events throughout the state as needed.
