Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Direct the activities of the hotel sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues.

Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include Room Sales, F & B Sales, and Catering/Banquet services.
Develop and manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities/performance to ensure sales meet or exceed established profit plan and to accurately report variances/projections to management.
Direct the scheduling of conventions and business group activities at the hotel and coordinates with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
Responsible for the development of hotel-level tactical sales plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.

Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representative of local community groups and companies, and attends out-of-town conventions in order to generate conventions or group business.
Assist the General Manager in the development and update of the hotel-level business plan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the company.
In coordination with General Manager, serve as interface on media related inquiries and refer sensitive matters to Corporate Public Relations if necessary.
Responsible for development of the department’s annual budget; monitor and report variances against plan; keep track of labor costs and related expenses.
Serve as member of Executive Committee/Management Team, Manager on Duty (when required) and work with other management personnel in establishing and implementing hotel service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.
Directs the work of at least 1 or more full-time employee.
Other Duties
Anticipate market demand factors with sales territories to capture best possible group and long-term business.
Have a sales-minded approach toward all job functions and duties.
Take necessary tactical and strategic actions to achieve desired sales results.
Commit to and implement "Prime Time Selling".
Sell within agreed group selective sell guidelines and adhere to group room maximum commitment levels.
Implement account management program that directs daily sales activity toward productive/profitable segments and accounts.
Work in an integrated team manner with all departments.
Understand the total Hotels' annual financial outlook.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency toward improving the Hotels' revenue performance.
