Summary: The Vacuum Product Manager, reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, is directly responsible for strategically overseeing the generation of sales revenue in their assigned Anderson Process product segment offering.
This Product Manager position will function as direct liaison between outside sales territory managers, inside sales and engineering personnel, vendors/customers, and the management team.
The Product Manager will utilize all company and vendor resources to strategically direct and support sales activities to promote revenue and profitability within the product segment they are managing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop thorough technical understanding of products offered and customer applications within assigned product segment
Develop strategic and tactical plans to grow revenue and profitability within the product segment.
Work with sales and engineering teams to grow profitable sales and drive results within the assigned product segment
Work with other Product Managers to promote “pull-through” and “cross-over” sales opportunities in conjunction with other products offered
Maintain and continue professional education of marketplace by attending educational workshops, trade shows, vendor training sessions, and review of professional publications, while enhancing personal and professional networks
Assist in establishing new accounts and maintain existing accounts by working with sales team, customer contacts and vendor base.
Help to identify potential customers and new markets within product segment being managed
Act as additional technical resource for sales team and execute joint sales calls as needed
Work with in-house Engineering and Management team to monitor sales activity within product segment
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, as needed, to explain products or services to customers and prospective customers
Review and prepare product segment sales and profitability reports to management team
Coordinate yearly product segment sales goals and work with management to develop both short-term and long-term sales plans to meet or exceed management-approved sales targets
Review daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity through customer relationship management (CRM) software (Epicor/Prophet21)
Education/Skills/Experience
Required:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to travel 40% of time
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
5 years sales experience and/or product management or marketing experience
Product knowledge; industrial pump, filtration, hose, or fluid handling equipment experience
