Position Objective:
The Donor Engagement Manager position is responsible for managing all donor related responsibilities at Horizon House, this includes, attracting new donors, cultivating relationships with individual donors and building long-term donor relationships.
This position functions as a member of the development team and serves as the main contact for creating, expanding and executing individual donor strategy—including growing average donor gift.
This team member serves as a vital role in growing fundraising through relationships, awareness, events and planned giving, while assisting with strategic donor communications.
This role has potential for growth as the agency continues to grow programs and donor base.
Position requires a standard forty-hour work week.
However, there may be events and other programs that the Donor Engagement Manager will have to work weekends and evenings.
Requirements: Training/Education: Bachelor's degree or similar work experience in managing donor programs a must Attend required agency or community education/training activities Complete Bloomerang, and any other necessary software training modules Experience/Skills: High-level of relationship building skills within different sectors Effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral Ability to work with a variety of donors and address any issues in a timely manner Technology skills to input and maintain current donor information in database, track donor donations and activities & produce a monthly report Experience with Bloomerang or compatible donor management software program a plus Proficiency in all Microsoft applications and ability to become proficient in required database tracking systems Self-motivation, good organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines Special Requirements: High degree of confidentiality, work ethic, accountability & ownership of work product Meticulous attention to detail, result-oriented and solution-focused Strong written & verbal communication, follow-up and interpersonal skills Superior organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask, prioritize & meet challenging deadlines, coupled with high-level critical thinking, analytical & problem-solving skills.
Excellent judgement & decision-making skills Superior computer skills; including data entry, communication tools, processes data and documents accurately Ability to travel, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Essential Functions: Donor Objectives: An appreciation and affinity for the mission of Horizon House and the neighbors we serve Increase levels of donor donations by building relationships with current donors Create, expand and execute an individual donor strategy Represent agency at in-person meetings with donors Communicate on a consistent basis with active and inactive donors Cultivate relationships with new donors, while continuing to build relationships with major donors Increase annual donor retention rates Establish a planned giving program to provide donors with opportunities to include Horizon House in their personal legacies.
Segment donor base to facilitate targeted communications and future donations Call first-time donors to cultivate relationships for recurring donations Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator in turning volunteers into donors Update and produce acknowledgement letters for monetary, in-kind and corporate donations Generate donor reports for development and strategic planning Review, update and organize donor database in Bloomerang Organize and execute donor appreciation events Event Planning: Assist with planning, execution, and promotion of current fundraising programs and events General Assistance: Assists with all like duties as assigned by the Director of Development & Communications.
Completes other duties & projects as assigned.
