Associate Director – Business Insights & Analytics, Medical Affairs Responsibilities: Associate Director – Medical Affairs Business Insights & Analytics, is responsible for collaborating with teammates the team and Medical Affairs teams to effectively and efficiently deploy analytic solutions to back partners in making data-driven decisions.
This person in this role will assist a growing and dynamic team of analytics professionals whose main goal is to enable our Medical Affairs business partners achieve their goals through data and analytics enablement.
They will develop a deep understanding of various LillyUSA and Global Medical Affairs focused data sources, create analyses, ensure analytic outputs align with business results and communicate key outputs to decision makers.
The position will be critical for the integration and coordination of analytics outputs, working alongside internal business partners in multiple technical areas.
This position will lead a variety of analytical projects in collaboration with offshore teammates.
They will communicate analytical outputs to collaborators in a way that drives key business decisions.
The Associate Director will partner across the BI&A team to deliver analytics execution plans for the prioritized Innovation Readiness and Global Reach & Scale workstreams (ARS).
This individual will be an integral analytics teammate involved in the assessment of the earlier phase therapeutic area launch landscape in support of the development and subsequent recommendations for innovation readiness plans.
They will closely collaborate across GMAO & cross functional business partners with the goal of building, standardizing, and driving Innovation Readiness as a central capability, within the Global Customer Office.
This role reports to Senior Director, Business Insights & Analytics – Medical Affairs ARS.
Key Objectives: Develop an understanding of Medical Affairs strategy, goals, challenges and critical objectives (across GMAO & BU Medical Affairs) to ensure analytics results are aligned to the broader strategy Identify, prioritize, and implement analytical solutions that provide data driven insights, help answer critical questions and meet business partner decision needs Translate business problems into a clear analytics work plan with appropriate solutions for execution that will significantly create results Articulate analytics value proposition to partners and identify novel analytics use case opportunities Translate analytic outputs into actionable business insights Develop and maintain relationships with Business Unit and cross-functional Medical Affairs partners Work with data teams in both the US and offshore to develop a comprehensive understanding for the data BI&A has access to and be able to: Understand what data sources are available, their terminology, what they can be used for, and major limitations of the data Understand relationships between data sources Understand how to pull, compile, and use data compliantly Partner to coordinate the best way to communicate sophisticated models and technical processes in an easily digestible format and build organizational consensus for recommendations Partner across BI&A MA team to develop data driven, analytical approach to identify and assess launch environmental archetypes Bring the voice of analytics to decision making from pre-Commercial Decision through Launch Readiness and Coordinated Planning Approach, as a member of the cross-functional capability team Help develop and implement analytics tools and data products that enable Business Unit Innovation Readiness leads and cross-functional team members to productively implement the readiness process Independently query data and summarize key analytics results to quickly answer critical ad hoc business questions Implement analytics deliverables abiding by project management principles and demonstrating strong cross functional communication and collaboration Partner and collaborate across a wide variety of collaborators and cross functional teammates as a part of a highly matrixed organization Clearly articulate analytics needs into technical requirements for data engineering, Tech@Lilly and other cross functional partners.
Ensure consistency in analytics methodology, business rules and data definitions for all Medical Affairs analytics models Apply appropriate software tools (e.
g.
R, Python, SQL, etc.
) to implement analytics in order to answer business questions Check data and analytics solutions for quality, validity, and compliance Ensure compliance with all privacy and contractual obligations related to the use of data Other Key Initiatives / Special Projects as needed Basic Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
