Sports Tech HQ is a 501(c)(3) organization that attracts and grows sports tech business and investment in the State of Indiana.
Mission: We cultivate, grow, and accelerate the sports technology ecosystem in Indiana.
Vision: To be known as a global catalyst for sports technology.
LOCATION: This position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be co-located in the office of Indiana Sports Corp.
JOB SUMMARY: The Head of Marketing drives growth by collaborating with stakeholders and executing comprehensive marketing and storytelling strategies.
Responsibilities include overseeing brand management, communications, digital marketing, content creation, public relations, and event planning efforts.
The Head of Marketing will report to the CEO/Executive Director, Sports Tech HQ and will partner with other organizations throughout the State of Indiana GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Committees, Indiana Sports Corp, IEDC and STHQ Advisory Board.
Actively and aggressively pursue ways to grow the sports tech industry in the State of Indiana.
Contribute to building a comprehensive communication plan for all staff, board members, media, and allied associations, while coordinating efforts with Indiana Sports Corp.
Attend Board of Directors and Advisory Board meetings and report on matters of the organization when required and necessary.
Attend necessary Indiana Sports Corp meetings and functions.
Represent the organization at industry meetings, expositions and government relations meetings and maintain contact and mutual business relationships with the same.
Other such duties and responsibilities as are assigned by the CEO/Executive Director.
MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development and implementation of the overall marketing strategy, working in partnership with the CEO/Executive Director.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
Manage the creation and distribution of marketing/promotional collateral, ensuring it aligns with the overall marketing strategy.
Lead partnership activation efforts.
Perform day-to-day tactics as needed.
BRAND MANAGEMENT: Uphold and enhance brand identity through consistent messaging and visual elements in order to generate leads, and drive business growth.
Ensure that all marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines.
COMMUNICATIONS: Oversee internal company correspondence, content and messaging and manage external communications output.
Implement processes, strategies and activities to manage the flow of information through the organization’s leadership, management and various internal stakeholders.
Work with IEDC or assigned third party to ensure coordination with other strategic sector initiatives to provide cohesive messaging and amplification of related stakeholders in the broader Indiana innovation ecosystem.
DIGITAL MARKETING Oversee digital marketing channels, including website content and technology platforms, social media, email campaigns, and online advertising.
Utilize data and analytics to optimize digital marketing efforts, including SEO optimization.
Oversee and implement paid media opportunities.
Manage third-party vendors and agreements tied to the execution of digital marketing efforts.
CONTENT CREATION Lead the creation of compelling and relevant content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, podcasts, videos and more.
Utilize storytelling to garner interest and awareness.
Work closely with subject matter experts to develop thought leadership content.
PUBLIC RELATIONS Develop and maintain relationships with local, national, and international media outlets and industry influencers.
Identify earned media opportunities and pitch for press coverage and thought leadership opportunities.
Develop speaking points and topics for STHQ spokesperson.
Lead crisis communications planning.
EVENT PLANNING Collaborate, plan and execute events, webinars, summits and conferences to enhance brand visibility and engage with potential clients.
Manage and activate partnerships and implementation of assets tied to partnership agreements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree (B.
A.
/B.
S) in business, marketing, communications or similar required.
Graduate degree strongly preferred.
10+ years of extensive marketing experience preferred, with increasing levels of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrable experience of building and executing a marketing strategy that positively impacts awareness and pipeline growth.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, with an innovative approach to digital marketing, content creation, and brand management with success.
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
Enthusiasm for learning and leveraging newer technologies, such as AI.
OFFICE ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL: The Head of Marketing will co-locate in the office of Indiana Sports Corp and will partner with other organizations throughout the State of Indiana.
Ability to travel locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally is a requirement of the position.
REQUIRED PHILOSOPHY: The Head of Marketing should demonstrate robust leadership skills, strategic thinking prowess, analytical acumen, and effective goal-setting capabilities.
A deep comprehension of marketing principles, industry trends, and consumer behavior, coupled with the ability to seamlessly transition between strategic planning and tactical execution, is essential.
