Job Description About Buildings + Places: Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management.
This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.
Our Indianapolis studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education and Federal market sectors.
We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget.
  Some of our recent projects include: The IndyGo Transit Center, The Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology at Purdue University, New train stations for the Northern Indiana Commuter Rail District, new labs for Corteva, and many projects for Cummins, Inc.
AECOM is seeking a high-caliber, dynamic leader to lead the growing Indianapolis Buildings + Places studio.
This position is to be based in Indianapolis, IN.
They will be part of the broader Illinois/Indiana leadership team and be responsible for helping to win, design, and lead teams of diverse professionals on projects across a diverse set of market sectors.
The successful candidate will bring a depth of experience in business development, project management, and team leadership along with a collaborative and energetic approach to building the team while supporting the regional practice.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Work directly with Managing Principal/Director of Operations to provide strategic vision and day-to-day administration of the Indianapolis practice.
+ Develop strong relationships and interactions with clients, teaming partners and stakeholders, leading to growth for the business.
+ Lead pursuit strategy for RFQ/RFP responses including project approach, scope of work development, fee preparation, and interview preparation and interview.
+ Determine and provide appropriate resources for projects to meet design, technical, client satisfaction, and financial goals.
+ Supervise, recruit, and promote staff and intentionally embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion in all stages of employee success.
+ Serve as Project Principal and/or Project Manager overseeing and/or leading multiple projects and diverse teams through all phases of design.
+ Ensure and deliver effective team communications, lead meetings, and coordinate team assignments.
+ Ensure compliance with the AECOM mandatory quality control processes and other AECOM directives for all projects.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: + BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education  + Professional Licensure  Preferred Qualifications: + 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 7 years of experience leading teams as a Project Manager or Design Manager + Demonstrated ability to grow a practice and meet planned revenue targets + Proactive and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively + Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills including both verbal/presentation and written + Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets, resulting in project profitably + Leadership experience on large or complex projects working with diverse teams.
+ Ability to think strategically, implement change, enforce policy and resolve conflict + Proficiency in the following computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suites.
+ LEED accredited Professional with Sustainability or Wellness experience Additional Information + Sponsorship is not available for this role.
+ Offered rate of compensation (Indiana locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The salary range for this position is $150,000- $185,000 + AECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
