The Machinist Manufacturing Technician governs the design of manufacturing assets; tools, inventory, equipment, and others as necessary in to ensure a safe, ergonomic, defective free and efficient manufacturing process that maximum capital expenditures.
This position will work closely with engineering – quality, NPD, applications, and CPE – as well as PM to ensure that operations can manufacture the portfolio of products IMMI delivers to the marketplace.
Manufacturing Engineering will also assist operations in the resolution of day-to-day issues that arise because of quality and inefficiencies.
Works closely to ensure technical quality and efficiency.
To enable the production function is achieved through ongoing improvements in waste reduction and performance for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Description for Internal Candidates *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * The essential functions of this position while meeting or exceeding annual goals and objectives are as follows: Perform project work in tandem with the implementation of lean principles and assist in the execution of kaizen teams and initiatives.
Participate in the creation of a lean work environment through the development of workstations, material presentation and transition, metrics, and workplace organizational needs.
Stay up to date with developments in manufacturing engineering process optimization methods.
Facilitate and assist in the development of new streamlining strategies for efficiency.
Identify areas needing to be maximized; inventory purchasing, manufacturing downtime, potential uses for manufacturing scrap, time management, and other opportunities for improvement.
Develop strategies to maximize the development process of new products and prototypes.
Be ready and willing to address any immediate issue as it occurs even though it may not fall directly into your assigned area(s).
Be a flexible, solid team player and apply sound common sense to the issue.
Work to address customer concerns and/or implement improvements to the existing product/process as requested by the customer.
*QUALIFICATIONS * Appropriate degrees, certifications, and experience of Industrial Engineering, manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Experience welding as noted below and experience with at least two of the other four areas: Welding: Manual and Robotic MIG Welding of mild steel, HSLA steel plates, and tubing.

Experience creating 2D tool shop manufacturing prints.
Experience with Fixture Assembly and initial parts fitment is a plus.
Fixture tuning to achieve print/model dimensions is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate the appropriate systems such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Projects, and any other computer software deemed necessary.
